By
measuring internal resistance with the 3554, you can check the battery's
remaining life
Yuasa Battery Monitor 3554
The
Yuasa Battery Monitor, the YP1-2 has been upgraded to the model 3554,
details of which are given below
MUCH EASIER THAN CHECKING
ELECTROLYTE
The "SEALED" TYPE LEAD ACID battery's electrolyte cannot
be taken out to measure its specific gravity and observe its appearance.
This limitation has made it impossible to identify the state of deterioration
of the battery by sampling the electrolyte, which has been one of
the conventional methods for determining the state of open vented
batteries. Now the 3554 can be used instead.
NO NECESSITY TO DISCONNECT THE
BATTERY FROM LOAD
The most accurate method of identifying battery deterioration is to
perform a discharge test by using a capacity-testing device in place
of the normally connected output load. However, when using the 3554,
it is not necessary to disconnect the battery from the actual load
during testing. Therefore, the standby power output is not interrupted.
With the 3554 the battery can remain in stand-by.
INTERNAL RESISTANCE CAN BE MEASURED
TOGETHER WITH VOLTAGE, WITHOUT DELAY
The above mentioned method also requires the maintenance person to
spend a great amount of time and labour in measurement etc. Therefore,
a method that can determine deterioration without delay combined with
ease of use has always been in great demand. The 3554 satisfies this
demand.
